Things I believe.

Beliefs I hold on to while working.

  1. Async-first, trust-first.

    • It does not mean async-only — but making sure that sync agendas have a good reason for pulling people out of their focus-window.
    • No agenda, no meeting.
  2. Have strong opinions, loosely held.

You can just change your mind if you're wrong.

  3. Landings > launches.

    Product adoption > shipping code.

  4. Always assume good intent.

People are working with their best intention, their best effort, and the best heart.

  5. Seek the collective truth, not just one opinion.

Just because one engaged user or an important stakeholder asks for something doesn't mean they're right. Validate before shipping — avoid the XY problem.

  6. Clear writing is clear thinking.

  7. Aim for TACS comms.

    Tactical, Actionable, Concrete, and Specific.

  8. Get buy-in before shipping.

Get buy-in from the involved stakeholders before materializing any code that will hit the users — i.e. avoid reckless shipping.
